SYMPTOMS OF MALNUTRITION

 


The symptoms of malnutrition can vary depending on the specific nutrients that are lacking or imbalanced in the diet. Different types of malnutrition may present with a range of symptoms. Here are some general symptoms associated with malnutrition:
   

 1. WEIGHT LOSS:-

  • Unintentional and significant weight loss is a common symptom of malnutrition. This can occur due to a lack of calories or essential nutrients.

2. FATIGUE AND WEAKNESS:-

  • Malnourished individuals often experience persistent fatigue and weakness due to a lack of energy and essential nutrients needed for normal bodily functions.

3. MUSCLE WASTING:-

  • Inadequate protein intake can lead to the breakdown of muscle tissue, resulting in muscle wasting and a decrease in muscle mass.

4. DELAYED WOUND HEALING:-

  • Malnutrition can impair the body's ability to repair and regenerate tissues, leading to delayed wound healing.

5. POOR IMMUNE FACTORS:-

12. ANEMIA:-

13. DENTAL ISSUES:-

  • Malnutrition can contribute to dental problems such as cavities and gum disease.

14. VISION PROBLEMS:-

  •  Vitamin A deficiency can lead to night blindness and other vision issues.
